Mountain View Car Wash Inc. was built by Ray Powell in 1965. The original building had 4 inside bays and 2 outside bays. Two years later he added 2 more inside bays and enclosed one of the outside ones. In the early 70s Steve Bowser began working for Ray and ended up staying around for the long haul. In 1976 Steve and Ray added the last 3 bays, increasing their total to 10. Steve and his wife Rosie took over the car wash as Ray gradually retired in the late 80s to early 90s. Unfortunately, Steve passed away suddenly in 2006 so his son, Dwight, moved back from Fairbanks to help out. Now Rosie and Dwight run the business and continue to bring you the best self-service car wash in Anchorage, AK.
